Astana Train Station has been designed in line with city’s master plan as well as its further expansion by targeting today’s and tomorrow’s needs.
Thanks to usage of high performance glass in both façade and roof cladding, energy saving as well as natural light for human health have been achieved. High air quality inside the building provided is another plus having been targeted whilst designing the project. Besides the usage of energy saving HVAC systems, 1% renewable energy has been with priority targeted by using photovoltaic panels and wind turbines. In addition to these to enhance sustainable energy infrastructures such as rainwater store and waste recycling units have been designed for this project.
The project consists of 130.000 m2 closed area with a total 210.000 m2 construction field. Daily passenger capacity is 35.000, hourly capacity of the station is 6840 maximum. The project has been developed and designed with Buro Happold by considering people flow, safety and disabled person needs. The station will be equipped with visual, audible and tactual data.
Astana Train Station has been planned as a terminal having 6 tracks (+1 for future use). Total platform length is 630 meters. The station incorporates two-storied parking lot, service area, platform, concourse, restaurants, offices, lounges and mechanical floor, totally 7 stories and 740 (indoor) and 441 (outdoor) totally 1181 car parking lot.
The project has been planned by a Turkish company ‘’Tabanlioglu Mimarlık’’, and the consultancy services have been provided by Buro Happold.
